For the purposes of this website, I will be using my Papa (William/Bill Haire) and his siblings as Generation 0 to build the rest of the family on top of that. Profiles will be categorized by Generations and will be listed in order of age from youngest to oldest. In depth information will be available for each family member in an individual profile. Information is constantly being updated.

Dorris Haire was born on April 28, 1930 in Toronto, Ontario to her father, Robert Haire and her mother Lizzie Haire (Humphreys). Dorris passed at the age of 2 years and 6 months on August 30, 1932 in her home of 62 Argyle St. Toronto. Dorris passed from whooping cough.
William (Bill) Haire was born on March 25, 1928 in Toronto, Ontario to his father, Robert Haire and his mother Lizzie Haire (Humphreys). Bill married Irene (Pross) in Toronto and had 3 children: Suzanne, Patricia and Greg, from whom he has 8 grandchildren and a growing number of great-grand children. Bill passed on July 1, 2016 in Bobcaygeon, Ontario.
Pearl Haire was born on February 13, 1926 in Toronto, Ontario to her father, Robert Haire and her mother Lizzie Haire (Humphreys).
Lillian Haire was born on October 1, 1924 in Toronto, Ontario to her father, Robert Haire and her mother Lizzie Haire (Humphreys).

Elizabeth (Betty) Haire was born on January 1, 1922 in Toronto, Ontario to her father, Robert Haire and her mother Lizzie Haire (Humphreys). Betty passed at the age of 1 year and 1 month on February 15, 1923 in her home of 10 Shirley St. Toronto. Betty passed from whooping cough.
Robert (Bob) Haire was born on March 17, 1920 in Toronto, Ontario to his father, Robert Haire and his mother Lizzie Haire (Humphreys).
Thomas (Tom) Haire was born on March 30, 1916 in Toronto, Ontario to his father, Robert Haire and his mother Lizzie Haire (Humphreys).
John Haire was born on September 22, 1914 in Toronto, Ontario to his father, Robert Haire and his mother Lizzie Haire (Humphreys). John passed at the age of 19 on November 11, 1914 due to a brain hemorrhage from the boxing that he was actively involved in.
Generation 1-Haire
Thomas Haire was born in 1898 in Randalstown, Antrim, Northern Ireland to his father, William Haire and his mother Mary Haire (Ballentine). He had 3 siblings including: James, Robert and William. At some point, Thomas immigrated to Brooklyn, New York and started a family of his own. We are still gathering information about this family…to be continued!

Robert Haire was born on November 8, 1889 in Randalstown, Antrim, Northern Ireland to his father, William Haire and his mother Mary Haire (Ballentine). He had 3 siblings including: Thomas, James and William. Robert immigrated to Canada with his brother James, where he contributed to starting the roots of a very vast family with his wife, Lizzie Humphries, of whom he had 11 children with. Robert married Lizzie on July 13, 1913 at the age of 25. Robert served in both World Wars and had a construction company in Toronto. Robert passed on March 16, 1969 in Toronto, Ontario.
William Haire was born in 1889 in Randalstown, Antrim, Northern Ireland to his father, William Haire and his mother Mary Haire (Ballentine). He had 3 siblings including: Thomas, James and Robert.
Generation 1-Humphries
Mary Jane Humphreys was born August 14 1885 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland to her father Duncan Humphreys and her mother Jane Humphreys (McClarty). Mary Jane married Joseph Spence on March 29 1926 at the Layd Parish Church in Cushendall at the age of 40. Due to her age, it is unlikely that they had children. Mary Jane worked as a proprietress at the Temperance Hotel Cushendall. Mary Jane passed on October 20 1952 in Lisburn, Antrim.
John Humphreys was born March 24 1887 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland to his father Duncan Humphreys and his mother Jane Humphreys (McClarty). John was a soldier in the First World War. He enlisted in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada on March 24 1915 on his 28th birthday. John was a member of the 39th Battalion of the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force Regimental Number 413050. John’s personnel file lists that prior to the war he was a concrete finisher. His battalion was eventually merged with the Canadian Infantry Western Ontario Regiment, C Company, 18th Battalion. John was killed in action on May 13 1916 in St. Eloi, France. John is burried in Voormezeele Enclosure no. 3, Belgium (grave reference XII. A. 5).
Bernard Humphreys was born on April 14 1889 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland to his father Duncan Humphreys and his mother Jane Humphreys (McClarty). Bernard came to Canada with Robert Haire in 1911, and later lived with his sister while Robert was off at war. Bernard served in WWI with the Canadian Engineers, regimental number 2012029. On September 16 1925, Bernard married Margaret Hyndman in Toronto. As of right now it is unknown whether or not they had children, however it is likely, as it is listed that his son-in-law (C.S. Gillis) was present at death. This indicates that he had at least one daughter. Bernard eventually moved back to Northern Ireland and passed in Larne, Antrim on January 2 1962 from heart disease at the age of 73 at 1 Edenvale Terrace, Roddens, Larne. His final listed occupation on his death certificate indicated that he was a cooper.
James Humphreys was born January 21 1891 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland to his father Duncan Humphreys and his mother Jane Humphreys (McClarty). James worked in Layd for his life as a farmer. He passed on January 15 1960 in Cushendall Hospital. His belongings went to his brother Bernard Humphreys. It is unlikely that he had a family, as his funds were directed to his brother.
Lizzie Humphreys was born on August 22, 1893 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland to her father Duncan Humphreys and her mother Jane Humphreys (McClarty). Lizzie married Robert Haire on July 13, 1913 in Toronto at the age of 19. Lizzie had 11 children with Robert. Lizzie passed on December 23, 1959.
Denis Humphreys was born July 16 1896 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland to his father Duncan Humphreys and his mother Jane Humphreys (McClarty). Denis served in WWI with the Royal Irish Rifles, 8th Battalion, Regimental Number 1478. He served as a rifleman for his duration of the war. Denis was killed in action on March 24, 1916 in Flanders, France.
Frederick Humphreys was born January 3 1900 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland to his father Duncan Humphreys and his mother Jane Humphreys (McClarty). He married Laura Simmons and had 4 children: Duncan, Elizabeth, Freda and Mary. Frederick passed on December 19 1957 in Layd, Cushendall.
Generation 2: Haire
William John Haire was born in 1837 (according to his death record) in Antrim, Northern Ireland. He was born to his father John Haire and his mother Elizabeth Haire (maiden name unknown). It is apparent that William had a first marriage to Rachel O’Neill on February 23 1867 in Ballymena, Antrim. It is unknown whether or not they had children. William married Mary Ballentine on May 31 1884 in Ballymena. William and Mary had 7 children: Elizabeth Jane, William, Robert, Frances James, twin girls unnamed, and Thomas. William passed on December 3 1907 from senile decay in Groggan, Drummaul, Ballymena, Antrim.
generation 2: Ballentine
Mary Ballentine was born in 1860 (according to her death record) in Antrim, Northern Ireland. She was born to her father Robert Ballentine and her mother Eliza Ballentine (maiden name possibly Stewart but not confirmed). Mary married William Haire on May 31, 1884 in Ballymena. William and Mary had 7 children: Elizabeth Jane, William, Robert, Frances James, twin girls unnamed, and Thomas. Mary passed on February 3 1900 from tuberculosis which she had been fighting for over a year.
Generation 2: Humphreys
Duncan Humphreys was born in 1860 (according to his death record) in the Ballycastle region of Antrim, Northern Ireland. He was born to his father John Humphreys and his mother Mary Humphreys (maiden name unknown). Duncan married Jane McClarty on December 22 1884 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim. At the time of his marriage Duncan was a servent in Layd. Duncan and Jane had 7 children: Mary Jane, John, Bernard, Jane, Elizabeth, Denis and Frederick. For much of his life, Duncan was a farmer until his death on November 13 1919 when he passed from a malignant tumour of the stomach. Duncan passed in Cushendall with his daughter Mary Jane by his side.
Generation 2: McClarty
William McClarty was born in 1834 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland. He was born to his father John McClarty and his mother Mary McClarty (McNeill). William’s date of death is unknown as of now.
Mary McClarty was born in 1835 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland. She was born to her father John McClarty and her mother Mary McClarty (McNeill). She passed sometime between 1835 and 1846, based on a guess, due to the fact that another girl was born to these parents and named Mary also.
Gamble McClarty was born in 1837 in Antrim, Northern Ireland. He was born to his father John McClarty and his mother Mary McClarty(McNeill). He married Elizabeth McClarty (Beverland) on September 1 1857 in Ballymoney, Antrim, Ireland. Gamble and Elizabeth had two children, John (1864) and Gamble (1871). Gamble passed on February 13 1919 in Leek, Cloughey, Ballymoney Parish, Antrim.
John McClarty was born in May 1939 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland. He was born to his father John McClarty and his mother Mary McClarty(McNeill). He married Martha Kennedy on March 9 1863 in Finvoy, Ballymoney, Antrim. John and Martha had 6 children: unknown (1865), unknown (1867), Kennedy (1869), Margaret Jane (1871), John (1873), and Hugh Dallas (1874). After his first wife Martha passed oh November 11 1883, he married his second wife Anne Jane Smylie on July 8 1884. They had one child: John Smilie (1892-1895) who passed at a young age. John passed on March 11 1894 in Duneany, Clough, Ballymena, Antrim from Meningitis.
Daniel McClarty was born in November 1841 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland. He was born to his father John McClarty and his mother Mary McClarty(McNeill). Daniel’s date of death as of right now is unknown.
Frederick McClarty was born in March 1884 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland. He was born to his father John McClarty and his mother Mary McClarty(McNeill). Frederick’s date of death as of right now is unknown.

Jane married Duncan Humphreys on December 22 1884 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim. Jane and Duncan had 7 children: Mary Jane, John, Bernard, Jane, Elizabeth, Denis and Frederick. Jane passed on November 18 1942 in Cushendall.
Hugh McClarty was born in 1862 in Layd, Cushendall, Antrim, Northern Ireland. He was born to his father John McClarty and his mother Mary McClarty(McNeill). He married Roseanne McGreer on June 10 1885 in Cushendall. They had 4 children: Jane (1886), Lillie (1890), Ellen (1891) and Hugh Frederick (1903). Hugh passed on March 28 1914 in Coleraine, Ireland from epithelioma.

Angus MacLaverty was born May 25 1735 in Kintyre, Scotland. He was born to his father John Iver McLarty and his mother Mary Margaret Robinson. He married a woman (unknown) and they had one child: James Henry MacLaverty (1755-1814). Angus passed in 1759 in Lisburn, Antrim, Ireland.
